Self-care is so important, I explained a lot about why self-care is important in my guide to self-care post last year, but it's easy to forget about it sometimes. It's so easy to get caught up in everyday life that we neglect to take care of our mental, emotional and physical health. A self-care kit can help with this. 

What is a self-care kit?

A self-care kit is pretty straight forward, it's a toolkit of things that you use when you feel you need to take care of yourself a bit more. You can store your self-care kit in a drawer or a nice box and it's there to help you when you're either feeling down or stressed. A self-care kit is ideal for when you need a mood boost, or after a tough day or week or just when you need to relax and unwind. 

Why do you need one?

Having something you can just pick up, like a box, and having everything you need in there to look after yourself with can be so useful. It also makes it easier if you're feeling reluctant to practise any self-care, maybe that's the way your mood manifests itself or you're feeling too stressed to gather everything you need to take care of yourself with, so having it all in one set space is definitely helpful. It can also give you peace of mind in knowing that it's there if and when you need it.
