Why You Should Keep A Journal

Recently, I've started journaling. I've begun doing this for a number of reasons that I'm going to share with you today.

There's something so relaxing about having a journal that you write in regularly, journaling helps me write down my worries, fears and concerns and problem-solve them all at the same time. It's a simple concept, but it's an effective one.

By writing down my worries, I can have designated 'worry time' where I write down all my worries and work through them. Then, once I've finished, I don't need to worry about it anymore. It's an idea I'm trialling at the moment and it seems to be working so far. By addressing my fears and concerns, I can see what it is that's bothering me and work on tackling them.

As well as this I find it sparks off my imagination and provides a therapeutic outlet for me to express myself. Of course I've got my blog to be creative on, and my 2nd blog for my poetry, but having a journal helps as it just provides another avenue of creativity to go down.

I also find it helps me unwind at the end of a busy day. Writing can be so calming as it helps me switch off and I'm finding it helps with my anxiety.

I find it also gives me a chance to reflect on my day, the good bits and the bad bits.

I'm looking forward to, maybe in a month's time, looking back through my journal and seeing what I've written. If you haven't yet started a journal, take this post as a sign that you should.
