Learning To Let People Go

I'm a firm believer in that people come into your life for a reason - whether that's to teach you something you didn't know about yourself or the world, or you teaching them, or to show you a different side of yourself - i don't know, but there's almost always a reason why someone comes into your life. Usually its the universe trying to teach you something you didn't know about yourself or the world through someone else.

So, it stands to reason that there's a reason for them leaving too - usually because the path in which you walked down together has ended and you're destined down different roads.

Nevertheless, learning to let people go can be a difficult process and I guess it's just one of life's lessons. It's important though for both our mental wellbeing and personal growth that we learn to let people go when needed as clinging onto the past can be unhealthy.

Whether it's because you've outgrown the friendship or relationship or because there's some toxicity there or for some other reason, you'll just know when it's time.

It's a feeling you get when the distance shows itself, when time shows what you really mean to someone or them to you, you'll just know when it's time to let someone go and yes, it can hurt, but it's just part of being human.

So let yourself feel any emotion that arises be that hurt, betrayal or even relief and try to understand that nothing in this life is permanent. We're all growing and changing all the time and we outgrow each other and the best thing you can do for yourself is embrace the change and let what happens happen.

That's all for today's post,
Beth. x
