11 tips for better sleep

Ah. Sleep. Where would we be without it? I don't know about you, but I'm the sort of person that has to have at least 10 hours of good sleep each night in order to function properly the next day. Here are my 11 tips for a better night's sleep.

Sleep Mist:

I personally don't use these, but I have done in the past and they've worked wonders.

No Caffeine after 4pm:

We all love coffee, but it can keep our minds working way beyond a reasonable hour, keep the caffeine to a minimum after 4pm and you'll feel the benefits when it's time for bed.

Switch off your phone an hour before you go to bed:

The blue light on your phone screen is often the culprit behind insomnia, switching off your phone an hour before you go to bed will show huge benefits.

Read a book:

It's a simple but effective way to unwind and relax before bed.

Make your bed up in your favourite bedding:

There's nothing else like it.

Go to bed at the same time every night:

That way your brain and body will know when it's time to rest.

Wake up at a 90 minute interval i.e 7hrs 30 or 9hrs.

We sleep in 90 minute cycles so it ensures we wake up at the right time, feeling awake and well-rested.

Have a hot chocolate before bed:

Again, it's the simple things that help us unwind.

Have a night time routine:

Something as simple as a skincare routine before you go to bed can help your brain to know its time to rest.

Take a hot shower or bath:

I don't know about you but these always make me feel tired.

Wear cosy pyjamas and get a pair of slippers:

Feeling cosy will help you sleep.
