Standing Out As A Blogger

The blogosphere is packed full of like-minded people, where we connect over beauty reviews, travel posts, recipes and what not, but it can be a challenging world to immerse yourself in. You can easily get lost in a sea of samey-samey blogs and it can be hard to make your mark online with a blog nowadays. Here's just a few ways to stand out from the crowd, from what I've seen successful bloggers do and what I try to do myself.

I'm finally back to blogging

 Have A Niche
Think to yourself "what am i good at, what do I like". Readers love more specific blogs, and there's it's proven that brands prefer blogs with a specific niche. Like beauty, travel or lifestyle. Of course this isn't definitive but there are statistics out there that prove this.

Photography is a must-have component of blogging, statistically blog posts with photographs get 94% more views

Audience Engagement

This can be done in a whole host of ways, through giveaways etc. The comment section of your blog will literally be your best friend for this, invite your readers into a discussion. An easy way to do this is to ask a question.

Market your blog

Through social media is the obvious best way, but make sure your blog has a unique selling point. It could be your photography, it could be your niche in general or it could be the fact you run a shop.

Have a shop

This is completely optional but I've seen loads of bloggers make a huge success out of running their own etsy or bigcartel, or even selling through ebay, amazon or depop.

  1. You're so right, it's really hard to stand out in blogging these days! I don't really have a niche but I do tend to stick to the subjects I'd like to read about, it's not for everyone but it means I don't get bored of blogging! I had no idea how much of a difference photography made to blog views, so interesting!

  2. I love this! I'm still thinking about whether I can maybe sell digital products but I don't know if I'm good enough/know enough to do so. It's so so hard to stand out. The blogosphere is saturated but belonging to a niche and writing engaging content definitely helps! X
