Obsession Matte Fix Setting Spray Review

10:00

So today I thought I'd do a little review of a setting spray I've been using for the past few months. I'd previously been using one of Primark's setting sprays but I thought it was time for a change and so I opted for this one.

Priced at £6 from Revolution's website, it's a very reasonable price for a setting spray, but does it actually work? I've never actually tested to see if it worked until today so this should be an interesting post.

To start with, the product has quite a strong smell to it, it's not an unpleasant one but you can definitely notice it when you spray it onto your face. I'm hoping that means it'll do the job at keeping my make up in place well.

I put my make-up on at midday and by 1pm I was already noticing my foundation was beginning to separate and fall into the cracks of my dry skin. This could be down to the foundation, but I was hoping the setting spray would help the makeup stay in place.

My eye make up is still on point though so hey ho.

The foundation worsened throughout the day, I think the setting spray may've dried my skin out a bit. I don't know, but it wasn't a pretty sight.

It could be largely down to the foundation I was wearing (Elf's foundation) and not the setting spray itself. I'll have to trial a day without the setting spray and update this blog post with my results.

My eye make up is still in place and hasn't shifted at all since I put it on two hours ago.

By six pm, my face was looking both red and dry and flaky, but again, my eye make up was still in place.

I took my make up off at eight pm and can conclude the setting spray isn't the best so I'm going to have to look for another one. It helped my eye make up stay in place, but my base was just gone within a few hours and it didn't look pretty at all.

If you have any recommendations for setting sprays (the cheaper the better) then let me know in the comments below. I'd have to say, give this setting spray a go for yourself as chances are it was my foundation that was the problem and not the setting spray itself.
