The Future Of Quirks and Queries

10:00

I've been thinking a lot lately about my blog, so far this year I've managed to post really consistently and found success in what I write (finally!) with blog posts such as my Sugar Scrub Recipe, my Bath Bomb Recipe and My Guide To Self Care gaining the highest page views out of 2019's blog posts.

I feel like after my long break in 2018 I've come back to blogging with a positive mindset and a head full of fresh ideas to write about. At the moment it's just a case of writing a blog post, promoting it and keeping an eye on page views as I watch them increase month by month, but it's given me time to think about where I want to take my blog next. Which direction do I want my writing to take?

I've done mind map after mind map of ideas when I'm feeling inspired and I've thought of a host of things such as food blogging (not my cup of tea), fashion blogging (also not my cup of tea) and I think it's safe to say I enjoy lifestyle blogging most of all. But with lifestyle being an umbrella term, it leaves it open as to where I want to take it next.

I take a lot of inspiration from mindfulness magazines, health magazines and of course, blogs that cover similar topics to these and I like to draw upon general well being when I write.  Not only do these topics seem to sit well with you guys, they also relate well to me and come from a place I'm passionate about given my own experiences with mental illness.

One thing I do want to cover more on this blog is current issues that people may face, such as mental health stigma, climate change and more. I like the idea using this blog as a chance for me to really have a voice and to put a point across on various topics that may affect some of you. Let me know down in the comments what you think of this.

So what does this mean for the future of Quirks and Queries? Well, where I'm at right now in terms of my blog is I've got a mind bursting full of ideas, a vision for this blog and for me, it's just about finding the motivation to put that across in what I write. I'm not pressuring myself to post twice a week at the moment, despite that being my aim, as if I'm not passionate when I write then whatever I'm writing, in my opinion, turns out to be a flop. I really want what I write to resonate with you, so I've got to make sure it comes from the heart. (that sounds kind of cheesy, but hey ho)

Until next time,
Beth
