Letting go of the fear of failure

10:00

Failure is a fact of life. We've all experienced failure at some point, whether that's failing to land that job you were hoping to get or failing to get up at the right time. Whilst it's natural for our mistakes and failures to leave us feeling defeated at times, in fact, it's perfectly healthy, what I'm wondering today is how can we use our failures to our advantage? And how can letting go of the fear of failure work to our successes?

When we fail at something, there's often a lesson to be learnt from it and this can work to our advantage if we take note of such lessons. For example, it could be that our interview techniques aren't up to scratch and it could be letting us down when applying for jobs, leading to us not getting the job we hoped for. Learning from this, we can improve on our interview technique which could help us succeed when applying for the next job. Without having failed the first time, we wouldn't have known our interview technique needed improving.

This can work in any area of our lives from your career to your hobbies to your relationships. Sometimes failure is the groundwork needed for success.

Which leads me onto the main point of this blog post: letting go of the fear of failure. By letting go of the fear of failure, you accept failure as a fact of life. In doing so you can unlock a world of opportunity through learning from your mistakes, there's no longer any weight holding you back and you can just go for it.

Often it's the fear of failure more so than our skills or talent itself that holds us back and prevents us from reaching our full potential or from having the best relationships we can possibly have. By letting go of this unnecessary burden, you know that if you fall, you can get up and try again.

  5. If you fail at something it probably wasn't meant to be and the right thing is hopefully just around the corner!

  6. What does failure mean? If we fail, we may learn through our mistakes, what works and what doesn't.
