4 Christmas Markets To Visit This Year - Blogmas

Today, I'm doing a round-up of the best UK Christmas Markets, it may be early but the gingerbread lattes are back in Starbucks and so here's a blogmas post! Of course, I haven't been to them all (one day!) and I won't be able to include every single one in here, but I've put together a list of four that I feel are the most worthwhile to visit this coming festive season.

There are plenty of Christmas Markets in the UK to visit this festive season

So, I've visited Birmingham's Christmas Market multiple times in the past, you can check out last year's post about it here, but there's a reason why over 1 million people visit it. Lined up in the centre of Brum's bustling city centre streets is the German themed Christmas market, follow it along and you'll end up at the Wheel & Ice Rink. Unfortunately this year, they don't have the craft market (which was my favourite part of the Christmas market) but don't let that dampen your spirits as there's plenty being sold in the main Frankfurt market.

London Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
With over 200 Bavarian-style chalet stalls, the UK's largest outdoor ice rink, fairy-lights galore, an ice bar and live music/shows, Hyde Park is where it's at this christmas. You may need to pre-book at peak times like the weekends, but there's so much to see and do it makes it worth the journey.

Liverpool Ice Festival & Market

They have an ice slide. Do I need to say anymore? It runs as part of the Liverpool Ice Festival and it sure packs a punch with 3 outdoor German style bars, 60 stalls, a covered ice-rink for all-weathers, an ice slide and so much more. Situated at Piers Head near the waterfront, you're in an ideal setting to browse and soak up the atmosphere.

Nottingham Winter Wonderland
Situated in the centre of Nottingham in the Old Market Square, their winter wonderland has a range of bars, stalls selling unique gifts and eateries selling a diverse range of foods for you to enjoy. Be sure to check out the opening times when planning your trip as Nottingham's seems to close earlier than my other mentions.

Those are just a few of the Christmas markets that run up and down the country this festive season. I'm curious to know though, which ones have you been to? Where would you recommend? Let me know in the comments section below.

  1. Thanks for the ideas. I've been to Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland before but not many others. Birmingham is a short drive from me so I'll be checking that one out this year.

  2. Christmas markets always get me in a festive mood, I need to visit more!
