5 Skirts to take you from Summer to Autumn | Quirks & Queries

I swear I've had this repetitive state of mind of every August, a way of thinking I can only compare to that of a Sailor's relief as they moor their boat in calmer tides. Summer's a scary season; In may you're dealing with swarms of Ladybugs, which give way to the Beetles and the wasps, before the house spider's wave goodbye to the late night sunsets with you; an unwelcome presence in the corner of your room. Couple creepy crawlies with a few rounds of heat exhaustion and that's my summer to a T.
Moving on from the overrated season and how much it bugs me, one thing I don't like about a lot of retail clothing is that they're quite limited in terms of their wearability. Most skirts I've bought in the past have only really had a moment outside the confines of my wardrobe; some of them have looked too 'A day on the beach' whilst other ones are transparent as anything and the few that have been 'successful' buys (i.e worn more than once) have been locked in the depths of pre-teen mistakes: the dreaded £3.99 H&M belt for example that gave the wearer some awful VPLs. *shudders*   So, I've been scouring the web in search of skirts that I feel I could wear more than just the once.

Patterned velvet skirt:

The skirt is available for £12.99 from H&M

Rambler Tapestry Skirt:

I'm torn between whether I'd get this skirt in a tall or a petite. I'm short, but my legs take up 2/3 of my height I swear. Ah well, on to the next one...
Available from Topshop for £36.

Black Flecked Pleated Mini Skirt:

This skirt's available from New Look for £22.99

High Waist Dog Print Skirt

I can't find anywhere where this skirt isn't sold out.
I've got two bags in this same print fabric, one small rucksack and another cross-body. I just feel like the skirt would look good matching a bag. (I like matching)

A&F Faux Suede A-Line Skirt:

Slightly more pricey than my other finds is this A-Line skirt by Abercrombie & Fitch for £58. (I'm more than likely going to be getting H&M's alternative as it's on sale for £7.99.
Shop the skirt here.

That's all for the time being, I quite like making these sorts of posts as they give you the same kick as online shopping does...but without the actual money spending.
