January Favourites

It seems like yesterday we were counting in the New Year and already we're nearing the end of month one 2016. Here's a quick round-up of the beauty products (a lot of which were brought during the sales) I've been loving this month.
Three lip glosses and Three mascaras made it onto the favourites this month.
The LipLustre glosses from Seventeen cosmetics are three out of a six piece set. The lighting on this picture makes them look all very very similar but one's more of a shimmery nude,  one a vibrant peach and the other a blushed pink. The set cost me £3 in  the sale (that's 50p per  18ml gloss)  and I find they're perfect for  glossing over a matte lipstick or wearing by themselves for a subtle glossy touch to your look. Similar lip lustre products are available online  for £3.99 each (but as this is a seasonal product unless there's some available in Boot's sale section, chances are slim. I would defnitely recommend trying out one of the lip lustre glosses as they don't tack on to your lips and aren't as sticky as a lot of other glosses I've tried in the past.

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara:

This was a magazine freebie, so the one photographed is 4ml rather than the standard 8ml size, and after trying it out I have to say it's tagline of dramatic curls is definitely true. I usually use this as a general day time mascara and prefer the more natural open-eyed look it gives. At £18 it's not the most purse-friendly so if it wasn't in the InStyle magazine I bought a few months back, I would never have tried this.

Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara:

A hero when it rains, this waterproof mascara is what I'll reach for when I'm spending the night somewhere, travelling or if I know I'll be out for the entire day. It's got a lot of staying power and builds up a lot of volume to your lashes, making it perfect for 'top heavy' make-up looks or a night out.

Rimmel London Wonder'full mascara with argan;

my all time favourite mascara has got to be this one, it seems to make me look almost presentable without the need for much else around the eye area. If I'm wearing this mascara I normally like to keep it at just that, or maybe touch it up slightly with a dusting of eyeshadow on the lid.

I've had this Denman brush for a long time and despite the chew marks and lack of handle, blame my Staffy, Max, for that, but it's still maintained it's blueberry scent. Even though it doesn't look like a fashion staple anymore thanks to the cosmetic damage, I still carry this around with me all the time as it's just perfect for everyday brushing and leaves a subtle fruity fragrance on my hair afterwards; giving it a freshly washed feeling. Price: £7.25 from Amazon.

The stay and wear power on this felt tip liner is beyond it's price league by far.  Durable and lasting, I put it on in the morning and when I come to wipe it off at night it's still as solid and as black as when I put it on. What I also love is how lines of different thicknesses can be achieved really easily by just changed the angle at which the felt tip sits on.  At £2.80 from Wilko's it's a bloody good price and a product I'll keep buying again and again.
Technic Eye Shadows, Nudes

Above is the Nudes Eyeshadows palette by Technic and at £1.49 from bodycare it's a bargain! As you can see I've used this one an awful lot, in particular the first three colours on the palette. This compact palette is a perfect handbag essential and is my go to shadow palette at the moment.

NSPA fragrance body mist;

In addition there's the NSPA coconut fragrance body mist and this, with it's fresh tones,  just eliminates any bad smells and leaves you feeling clean.  I got this as part of a multi-pack gift set for Christmas and this can be bought from Asda for £5, (4 x 100ml body mists in various scents) or the individual Coconut mist at £2.97 for a 200ml bottle.
Bought as part of a reduced stocking filler set from Topshop which included three 6ml polishes. This polish, I find, can be used as both an overcoat (clearly it's intention) and a solocoat too (provided enough is applied).  I believe this is called colour is called adrenaline, sadly it's no longer available, but I just love the glitsy look to this and at £3 for three nail polishes I couldn't say no.

That's it for this months favourites.
