Make-up brands on a budget: W7 Review

21:07

If there's one thing I cannot stand about make up, it's the prices. I recently trialed an up and coming make-up brand known as W7. Whilst it may not be as well known as the likes of Max Factor and Maybelline, I was pleasantly surprised at the results I received upon use.

W7 mascara: £4.95
W7 lipstick: £4.50
W7 Eye shadow: £3.95
W7 blush: £4.95
W7 nail polish: £1.99

W7 Lashtastic Mascara:
This mascara has quickly become my favourite product to use, it's so easy to apply and really does coat your lashes evenly, creating a thick and full look. One thing I did notice was that it was shockingly similar to the 'Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara', which retails at £11.99. Out of curiosity I then decided to ask people I knew, without showing them the brand, which mascara wand they preferred. All of them pointed towards the W7, commenting that the bristles looked more precise.
The only negative is that the mascara isn't waterproof and occasionally smudges if you wear it on your bottom lashes, but this can easily be overlooked when compared with the money saved from switching from Max Factor to W7 mascara.

W7 Butterkiss Lipstick in Candy Floss:
Normally, soft barbie-like pinks wouldn't be my first choice. I have a strong preference for reds. However, there was something about the finish of this lipstick that added a sweet subtlety to an everyday look. Feeling like a lip-balm in consistency, the lipstick has a good amount of wear to it, that doesn't need to be reapplied frequently.

W7 Blush and Eye Shadow:
Blush and eye shadow are two make-up items that I don't pay much attention to. I've tried both of these and have been pleasantly surprised. Again, they are good for those on a budget and for finalising looks.

W7 Nail Polish in Blue Tini:
What I really like about W7 nail polish is how it not only mimics that of more expensive brands, but it can also be identified as it's own make. This colour in particular draws me in with the tiny sparkles encased within the liquid; it creates such a lovely unique look.
